Ubisoft has let the official cat out of the bag. Assassin's Creed 2 is officially official. The story will revolve around a new character, Ezio, an Italian noble from the Renaissance period. The new title promises tons of intrigue, an all new storyline, new weapons, more varied missions and an in depth character progression.

There is no solid release date at this time but the new title is slated for a holiday 2009 launch. In the mean time, Ubisoft has been kind enough to send along a picture of Ezio for your approval. He looks familiar somehow but I just can't seem to put my finger on it...
